InsurTech Blink to Participate at Inaugural Technology and Travel Summit in Toronto

The THIA Innovation Summit will explore how developments in tech are shaping the travel and health insurance industry.

Blink, the InsurTech that is currently making waves in the travel insurance sector across the globe, is to feature at the very first THIA Innovation Summit on September 9th in Toronto.

This one-day event will see business and thought-leaders from the tech and travel insurance industry around the world, come together to discuss how artificial intelligence-led innovation, blockchain, customer self-service, enterprise content development, and other technology trends are reshaping the travel health insurance industry.

Pratheesh Kumar, Customer Solutions Specialist with Blink will participate in a panel discussion on the day, looking at the topic of insurance in a digital world: how insurers and service providers can compete in an ever-changing consumer landscape.

Speaking ahead of the event Mr. Kumar said,

Advancements in technology have led to a shift on consumer expectations when it comes to travel insurance. Business leaders need to be at the helm in assessing the new ways in which consumers perceive travel insurance, and in looking at how their business can deliver on, meet and surpass their customer’s expectations.

The THIA event promises to be an exciting and insightful day of discussion and debate between some of the most forward thinkers in the industry. During our panel discussion, we will look at what this shift in consumer behaviour means for businesses around the globe – what opportunities and challenges it presents. Crucially, we will discuss how organisations can embrace technology to capitalise on the opportunities and rise above the challenges.

Working in a company that is purely solution-driven and in which technology is at the very core of all our innovations, I hope I will be able to share a meaningful insight into how we can all leverage the extraordinary potential of technology to ensure excellence in customer service and product creation.”

Blink, an Irish company, was acquired by CPPGroup Plc in 2017, and is quickly becoming one of the most innovative and successful providers of flight disruption solutions to insurers across the globe. It offers customers a proactive real-time insurance service that meets the speed and convenience that modern customers demand, through notifying travellers instantly if a flight is delayed. Real-time event notification allows for real-time problem resolution. Blink can offer clients options such as a cash payment or access to an airport lounge, all within seconds of the disruption occurring.
